Trainee CAD Engineer

Job Title: Trainee CAD Engineer

We are recruiting for a trainee CAD engineer to join our growing team at Harper Chalice. We are experiencing rapid growth following a successful number of years.

The successful candidate will be working under our experienced CAD engineer to help spread a growing work load. This is a fantastic opportunity to shadow an experienced member of our team and gain first hand experience of working in the design team of a successful company.

Outside of the CAD activities there will be opportunities for further experience and training in other areas of our business to give a fully rounded understanding of the impact this department can have on the overall business.

Outline of general involvement / responsibilities will be:

  • Support role to the CAD office completing day to day tasks
  • Producing project related layout and design drawings
  • Product design drawings
  • Updating 3D models of proucts and designs
  • Assisting with projects site design layouts
  • Assisting with project quotation preparation

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a background in CAD
  • Have an interest in further training/development
  • Appetite to grow and develop their career further
  • Have full UK Driving Licence
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel

 

The role will be based from our Coventry office with some site/client visits.

Project Sales Manager

Details:

We are recruiting for a “projects manager” to join our team at Harper Chalice. We are experiencing very rapid growth resulting in the expansion of our team in various areas. One of the roles identified is Projects manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of multiple projects from the point of confirmed order to client hand over. The role will in summary be managing the correct allocation of resource and the successful delivery of the projects.

  • Overall management of company installation projects
  • Labour and resource planning including both internal and subcontractors
  • Communication with client relating to the project including project progress verses programme and budget
  • Identifying and agreeing variation orders or contractor notices
  • Liaising with other departments within the company to ensure all other aspects of the project are aligned e.g.
  • Logistics
  • Warehouse/materials
  • Plant
  • Paperwork
  • Health & Safety Documentation
  • Management and submission of relevant reports/permits/documents required for all projects
  • Management reporting to the MD on the status of all projects
  • Financial forecasting of each project including valuation reporting to application preparation
  • Organisation and management of adhoc callout/maintenance works within labour plan

The successful candidate will:

  • Have full UK driving licence
  • Proven history of project management/delivery
  • Ideally experienced in the security industry
  • Excellent IT skills particularly in the use of excel and MS projects
  • SSMTS is beneficial but not essential

The role with be involve UK coverage but will be primarily based from our Coventry office with a estimated 1-2 days per week in the office ensuring documentation and reporting is kept up to date as well as liaising with other areas of the business.

A proven successful sales career with a security industry background and/or project sales experience. Must be articulate, a good communicator, an excellent relationship builder and hungry for success particularly in achieving sales targets. Technically competent and have the ability to discuss system design integration and overall security project requirements. Full training will be given in products and systems.
