Harper Chalice Group are delighted to confirm we have joined “Combined Industry Theft Solutions” (CITS).
CITS is a not-for-profit organisation. Its aims is to tackle the theft of construction and agriculture plant & equipment, and highlight fraudulent methods used against those companies which own or use that type of machinery.
CITS’s Membership includes Trade Associations, Insurers, After-market Security Manufacturers, Police Representatives, Plant Manufacturers, Major Contractors & Plant-hire Companies and CESAR. CITS is actively involved in tackling threats of fraud, cyber-crime and theft by holding regular meetings with representatives from the police and Home Office, where current trends are discussed and businesses plans to protect each other are implemented.
CITS is running specialist workshops run by the police and industry to prevent changing threats to our business. On behalf of the European Rental Association, CITS has recently produced their Theft Prevention Guide; and are assisting with updating CIFAS’s ‘Tackling Staff Fraud and Dishonesty: Managing and Mitigating Risks’.
By joining this organisation Harper Chalice are hoping to assist other business protect their assets and help tackle an ever growing issue in the construction industry.
Adam O’Reilly, Head of Projects for Harper Chalice said of joining CITS “ we are always trying to work with industry as a whole to help demonstrate the benefits of protecting your assets at the perimeter”.
“While other methods of tracking and recording theft is useful post event, perimeter security can provide both physical and psychological deterrent to would be thieves as well as providing early warning of any attempted breach or theft”.
Harper Chalice are joining CITS are the upcoming Plantworx exhibition in Peterborough. The expo will run from 11th to 13th June. Plantworx is the UK’s dedicated working construction event with a showcase of Plant, Tools, Equipment & Services and is held at the East of England Arena.
