Working with Harper Chalice’s installation partner MD Fencing, Econ Engineering’s new £7m state-of-the art service site in Sowerby, near Thirsk in North Yorkshire was protected using Harper Chalice’s electric fence system PulseSecure.

This was the latest in a series of five projects to protect Econ Engineering sites across their estate using the Harper Chalice PulseSecure system.

Our solution

The site was protected with a three metre high electric fence attached to the inside of a 2.4 metre high welded mesh perimeter fence thus projecting 0.6m above the mesh fence.

All site gates were also protected in a similar way to ensure total coverage of the detection system.

PulseSecure is a state-of-the-art High Voltage/Low Voltage, electric fence system that not only provides a visual & psychological deterrent, but should a determined intruder attempt to penetrate the site, they would receive a painful, but regulated, safe electric shock. Should this occur, the system will detect the attempted intrusion and raise the alarm.

PulseSecure systems have been extensively tested and comply with all applicable British & International standards and are independently accredited by the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) for use on Critical National Infrastructure sites.

Challenges

In order to assist our installer partner, Harper Chalice carried out pre-setting & factory testing all of the electronic equipment prior to shipping & installation. We were also on-hand to provide remote & on-site technical support as required.
